The Col de Vars combines Mediterranean sun and the Hautes Alpes snow.

Winter: La Forêt Blanche domain (Vars et Risoul), offers nearly 200 km of ski slopes having an elevation of between 1 650 and 2 750 meters, of which 85% >2000m, coupled with a complete artificial snow system.

The Historic House La Mourée 1790 is only 2 minutes by car or shuttle bus to the ski slopes at Vars Sainte Marie (TSD for La Mayt- 2600 meters), where you may ski, surf, renown snow park for freestyle riding, Fat Bike, snowshoe, kilomètre Lancé, sledge (four seasons) ….

Since 2019, the Ski Station Operator has launched a Ski Lifts Renewal  Pluriannual Reinvestment Program. Six brand new Ski Lifts have been inaugurated in 2023, allowing to reach faster the peak of the station and have more ski wihtin a day.

Summer: le lac de Serre Ponçon, a 40 min drive from the house, draws many water and jet skiers, its lovely coves harbors paillotes. The three national parks (Écrins, Queyras et Mercantour) attract mountain trekkers of all kinds. The cols of the route des Grandes Alpes also attract mountain climbers, motorized and non-motorized. Golf, accrobranche, rafting, are also available. Or simply spend a night tenting in a natural park, or take advantage of the numerous walks or hikes proposed by the Vars tourist office. At least 10 of them start from the house. 

In summertime, the evening coolness of our altitude at 1790 meters contrast with the sunny and warm meridional temperature of the Valley, where the Lake temperature remains at 23 degrees Celsius.

A house designed for an enriching après-ski

Thanks to having large rooms, you have the choice of:

Reading: Some 200 books, classical or modern, 30 of them in English, and all of Tintin stories.

Music: An Electric Piano, a Folk Guitar (right hander) and a "Cajon", enough to improvise jam sessions with friends.

Plus 200 CD records and a player connected to a lamp amplifier, which is consistent with the vintage character of the house. 

Internet & Video: Connected to Starlink. 2 TVs, 1 DVD player and 200 DVDs of all kind,1 Chrome Cast players.

Games: One Carrom (Indian billiard), a lot of playing cards,  Mille Bornes, Monopoly, Trivial Poursuit, etc…. Many toys for kids.
